Copy paste not working in Illustrator 2019 and 2020 on Windows 10

Im so over it. I do many searches and see 'solved', but nothing is solved. so many bugs. Every update fixes one thing but buggers up another. Now it also double clicks on some groups when I only click once.

Sorry to hear that you are facing multiple issues with Illustrator. I would request if you can try following these steps and share your observations:

Try booting the system into Safe Mode (https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode) and check how it works there. It starts your system so that it performs certain checks and prevents third party software/ services from automatically loading or opening. If it works fine in Safe mode, then there is some third party service or application like antivirus, plugins or web extensions which are conflicting with the Illustrator.
If that doesn't help either, login to Hidden Admin account (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfbMs3w-Z3s&t=53s). Check how the application works there. If it works fine there, then it could be related to permission errors. If it doubble clicks when you are only clicking once have you checked your hardware? Have you the latest driver for your mouse. It does sound that the glitch is not with illustrator but on your system. Is this behaviour even if you have a nearly empty document or only in complex documents? I'm not saying it could be impossible that it is a bug, but you need to eliminate that it is not some other issue causing the problem. What hardware, operating system, pointing device are you using. Is this in any situation or specifict to text/objects/anchorpoints? Are you copying via keyboard (you are sure that your keyboard is not glitchy, you have tried with other keyboard) via menu or by right clicking the menu?

Not everyone is experiencing these problems, so it might be hard to help you without more details: What version of Illustrator? What operating system and version? When did the problem start? Was it gradual or sudden? Had you recently added (or removed) any plugins? Any new or updated apps on your computer? Does it always happen, or just sometimes? In all documents? What have you done to try to fix the problem, or to determine its cause? Are you using a font manager or other app that might directly affect Illustrator? Tried quitting your browser? Are you using a tablet? Is your keyboard/mouse worn out? Anything else you can think of that might be relevant?

Im sure its not eveyone but it is almost everyone I know running windows and alot of people online seem to be having this issue also. It started on the last update I did for AI 2019 23.1 . I am know running both 23.1 & 24.1 and both have the same issue. Running windows 10 64bit, started one day and has done it every time once Ive had it running for several minutes. Browser or no browser, makes no difference. Computer has not changed in 2 years other than updates to adobe software. No tablets.

Text remains or copy and pastes fine, its just vectors or jpegs, whether just drawn or placed from other files. The fact that it works on text eliminates keyboard or mouse issues. copy paste works in other apps just fine. Drop down menu or keyboard short cuts is similar I say similar because drop down menu seems to have a better hit rate. Im drawing for hrs every day and it is the most annoying bug so far, for us anyway. Restarting program does fix it temporarily. Ive had my tech come in and check all my system and cannot find any issue with it.

Of late I have also noticed that it will jump into isolation screen sparatically when single clicking to select an item well. Normally I would need to double click a group to do this but now it will occasionally annoy me with this. It is not the mouse or its driver, as naturaly it was the first thing I eliminated.

Unfortunaletly it is becoming a chore to use this sofware now. The crashes are common as well. At least twice a day especially when using scissors of knife tool.

My everyday system is i7-6900, 500mb Pro M2, 2x1080, SS Pro hard drives, 64mb ram. and is only used for drawing and printing.

Thank you for added info. I have not come across the issue but am in a Mac. I have been on Windows 10 with no problem, but not On Windows daily. I am sure the Adobe staff monitoring the discussion will be better able to help now they have more information.
