Couldn't delete Anchor Points in Illustrator.

Why can't I delete anchor points? Is there a fix for this? I read about installing older versions and I tried that. Still doesn't work. How on earth can you have a problem with one of the most basic tools in AI?

    Srishti, thanks for responding. I just loaded another version of PS. I'm not sure if it was a bug or just my computer being the problem, but it went away after I loaded a different PS version. Regards, Steve

    I have the same issue. The pen tool turns into an asterisk and delete is not possible. Or it creates s stray point. Very inefficient. The old delete point tool was better

      Are you clicking them with the Delete Anchor Point Tool, or what happens if you do?

        That tool no longer exists

        Try to press the minus  (-) key. Or use the Windows > Toolbars > Advanced to display the tool.

        Please tell us the exact version and the system.

        Please tell us step by step what you are trying to do.

        Please show a screenshot of the object with layers panel.

          Apologies, Monica. I never opened these messages up from back in 2020. Obviously I figured a work around. I believe I just loaded a different version of PS. Anyway, I've never encountered the problem since, even with an updated version of PS. Thank you. Best regards, Steve
