covert repeats to individual objects

Once I've used the the OBJECT>REPEATS command, how can I treat each repeat as a separate object - essentially release the link between the repeats and the oritinal object? I have overlaps that I want to 'unite'.

I actually have the opposite problem; my mirror repeats have turned into multiple clipping objects and no longer seem to be affected by edits on one or the other. 😕😕 No idea why.
