Is this even possible with Illustrator or do i need an other programm?

I`ve tried a bit, but have problems with foreground an background of the line.

I`ve tried to draw both lines in go an split the parts for fore- and back-ground, but i cant figure out how to do it?

Can you please help me ?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards Paul.

Nothing about this looks impossible in Illustrator. What you CAN'T do is just follow the back-and-forth path of crossing ropes, because an object is either on top or behind others, and its relationship to itself is one of a single object. But you can create many smaller objects which overlap, and are drawn next to each other so they look like just one; it can take some getting used to the idea. It's the same principal as a magazine cover which has a person partly leaning over the magazine name; duplication and separate objects.
