I have a folder containing over 800 PDFs with identical specifications. When I inspect their layers in Illustrator, they're composed of two compound paths and a single path. I just need to open each file, delete the topmost compound path, save it, move on to the next, then rinse-and-repeat. Is there an action, or a set of actions, I could use to accomplish this automatically?
It took me all day but I figured it out! I built an Illustrator action that’s got a hotkey, then built an Automator script to run it 800 times. LOL

Probably that's doable with an action in Batch mode.
Can you share some of the files and mark what exactly is going to be deleted?
