Hi everyone,
A while ago I made a birth gift where I dotted around the name of the child and left the name blank (similar but nice than in the image). More dots closer to the edge of the ‘letter‘ and less to the outside. Now I want to make another one but digital.
I know how to cut out the letters but how do you raise the amount of dots close to the edge in a random way?
Thanks in advance!

Do you have a printed sample of what you're trying to create you can share?

Like this but with a word. So only cutting the letters is not enough, it needs to be arranged from each letter outwards.

Thanks!

Try making a scatter brush of your random dot pattern with the rotation set relative to path. Then assign it as a stroke to your outlined text.

Thanks for the reply. I made half the length of a letter as pattern and applied the settings you mentioned. It does however not follow the whole line but only in a few straight lines of the pattern. Hope it makes sense. Do you know how to really make it follow the path? Like multiply itself to follow?

You could use the Symbol Sprayer Tool.

Thanks for the reply; I tried and it works to an extent, I would have to manually put all dots in the right distance from each other. So it doesn’t really solve the issue I think.
