Create new file pop up doesnt show up

New Here ,
Jul 02, 2023 Jul 02, 2023

Hey all,

Been having this issue for a while now where every time I try to create a new file in Illustrator I dont get the document options to pop up on my screen.

They do seem to be there, as I can select a template by clicking on my screen, but it´s invisible to me so I have no clue what I´m opening beforehand. When I hoover my cursor it will randomly change to the finger icon and when I click it pens whatever option is supposed to be there, but it's really annoying going in blind.

Anyone else had this problem? and if so any solutions?

I would try to restart the computer and if that does not help, see if resetting your Preferences works.

Hello @CapseOne,

We understand how frustrating it can be to face technical issues in Illustrator, especially in the middle of work. I hope the suggestions shared by Ton helped resolve the problem. If not, kindly try the following steps and check if it helps:

  • Close all Adobe applications.
  • Rename the UXP folder to UXP.old from the following location:
    (Windows) Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP
(macOS) Navigate to Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP
  • Relaunch Illustrator

If the issue persists, kindly try performing a clean reinstallation of Illustrator using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool (https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html) to remove it and then reinstalling using the Creative Cloud desktop app (https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/download-creative-cloud-apps.html) and sharing your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
