Create outlines greyed out for a particular font in Illustrator CC on macOS Mojave

New Here ,
Sep 24, 2019 Sep 24, 2019

I am trying to create outlines in AI CC for our purchased font, however, the create outlines is greyed out. I have tried to copy and paste to new document (but I cannot re-type because it is part of a logo). I have done it before with stock and computer fonts, but I can't outline with this particular purchased font.  I am approaching a deadline to get this to my printer. I am running on macOS Mojave 10.14.4.

TIA.

Are you sure that the text isn't already outlined?

I am pretty sure. When I tried it on another document with the same font, using random letters, it still is greyed out

Did you select the text with the Selection Tool or with the Type Tool?

Then it should be a fully editable object, is that correct?

Does it work when you select the text and then Object > Flatten transparency (check the option "Outline text")

I think that the name and format of the font should not be part of the question, as it becomes instead a guessing game.

Thanks. I have downloaded a free version it from FontZone, installed and used in Ai.

Then I have created outlines, selcting the item (Selection tool) and pressed Ctrl (Cmd in MAc)+Shift+O and it works, press Ctrl/Cmd+Y to select it and just see the contour not the fill.

Hi Kelly,

Sorry to hear about this. There must be some setting applied from the manufacture of the font. I would request if you can try reaching them back and check if they can help or if they can suggest any workaround.

Regards,

Srishti
