Ctrl + Shift + O not creating outlines in Windows 11 with illustrator updated to 26.3.1. I used Loom to create a recording to show everything I've tried embedded below.

  • Deleting AppData Settings folder and restarting Illustrator
  • Changing Key Binding to a different shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+K for instance)
  • I can't even change the key binding back to Ctrl+Shift+O as if windows won't recognize it
  • Keys work but either windows or illustrator not recognizing the combination
  • Started happening last week (6-20-22)

11+ Years Using Illustrator and the first time I can't find the help or figure it out on my own in quite some time. I even tried installing an older version of Illustrator 25.4.6 and the same exact things happened. Please watch the video so I don't have to answer the obvious questions. They are covered there.

Thank you!

I don't have an AMD chip. I'm using Intel i9 11900H and RTX 3060. The answer in this thread does not apply. Thanks for the help though!

Hello again Manal,

Thanks for the help. That thread got me thinking my non-AMD video card may have similar settings. I found the settings in Razer Central (Cortex) and changed the Hotkeys to Ctrl+Shift+0 <zero, not O. I've been using razer cortex for a while now for my mouse and webcam without issue, but maybe windows 11 allowed that hotkey binding to override Adobe. Working now!!! I posted the answer to this thread. Thanks!

Solution Steps

  1. Enter Razer Central
  2. Launch Razer Cortex
  3. Click Gear Icon in the upper right hand corner for settings
  4. Select Hotkeys
  5. Change Hotkey for starting timer to something other than Ctrl + Shift + O. I chose Ctrl + Shift + 0(zero)
  6. Palm forehead
  7. Drink more coffee
