Question

Creating a Vcard Code using QRCode maker in Illustrator CC to add to address book on phone

Hi ,

I have a client that wants a Vcard Code using QRCode maker in Illustrator CC. I have used the QRCode Maker in illustrator but every time I scan it I am receiving it as TEXT instead of ADDRESSBOOK. The TEXT version won't allow me to add contact info into my address book. Is there a script or something I need to put at the beginning of the QRCode maker to change it over so it will read like a vCard? I need this resolved as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

The artificial intelligence can not create business card designs or even text that is spelled correctly

vCards have no protocol handler, so no, there is nothing to encode an URL directly. You can of course copy & paste the vCard's source code and have that encoded, but then it's up to your app to recognize it and make sense of it. Depending on what other users use this may not work, anyway, so frankly I'd just tell my client to ditch the idea. There's no way to make it work reliably for every user. Welcome to the world of mobile madness.
