Hi There.
Is there any way to create a font from an image using Illustrator that can be used in MS Office.
I want to be able to use one image for now in documents as a font.
I have tried saving the vectorised image as an SVG file but its not recocnised as a font.
I have then tried to convert the SVG to a TTF using an online converter but still no luck.
Thanks in advance.
It can be done in InDesign using the IndyFont script. The free version can create a font with one letter in it.
Apart from that there is the plugin Fontself (already mentioned by Jacob)
There are also free and cheap font editors like FontForge and Birdfont.

No, a font must be made by a specialist font editing tool. Adobe do not make one. Making fonts that work well is much more difficult than it seems like it is going to be, I suggest you work with an inline graphic instead.

Thank You.
I have seen a couple of videos suggesting this can be done but am struggling to get it working.

For my part you are welcome, Julie.
I for one hope you will report your findings. It is good to know which suggestions best suit different needs/uses/backgrounds. My second thought was the one glyph IndyFont which Monika suggested first, but I left it out because it requires your using InDesign for it which may suit you fine, also with its being free; and I never thought of free font editors.

Will do.
If I can crack this it will save me a lot of time in the future.

Hi Jacob,
Just to update you.
I used Monikas advice of FontForge and it worked a treat.
Very simple to use.
The only issue that I had was saving the name of the font, I found when you just "save as" the name you want it named the file correctly but when importing into Windows it kept showing as untitled.
If you go into the font properties there is a place to give the file a name, once given it a name here I then "saved as" and the correct name then appeared when imported in to Windows.
Thanks to all for your help.
