HELP!

When printing in Illustrator (and now in all Adobe apps) all of the sudden my lines (multiple diagonal lines for background) are showing crooked in print preview and printing all wiggly.  (But not in the document that I'm editing or working with.) I have done a hard re-boot on my desktop, uninstalled all Adobe apps & re-installed, and still the problem persists.  It is not my printer, Word prints just fine.  This was not an issue until a day ago or so.  I had printed the image and went to print another and it came out all crooked.   The plaid background also came out wrong.

(This was a jpeg that was paisted into Illustrator and cropped a little to fit 8x11. Even an un-edited image with straight lines prints lines crooked.)

(New Dell computer as of this year running Windows 11 Home edition)

Thank you!!!

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

jennaonlygirl,

Your screenshot shows nothing about the printer driver used.

In any case, it is easier for us if you use the Insert Photo button at the top of the Reply box (looks like moon over mountains),then we can see the screenshots right there in your post, with 3 attached files we shall have to open each in a different Tab and switch back and forth.

jennaonlygirl,

Have you made a change of the printer driver (driver software of the printer) that you are using?

To print everything properly from AI, you need to use the PostScript (emulating) driver, often recognizable as PS.

Until you get it sorted and have the PostScript printer driver back to work, you can save a copy as PDF and print from Acrobat.

To note, print preferences were not changed.  Also just made sure my HP drivers were all up to date, closed AI and restsarted my computer. Thank you!
