Question

Custom letter formatting: Can I italicize one specific letter across a whole document?

Hello designers,

I created a brand guide in which every "O" letter should be italic. Only the "O" letter inside every Title and Subtitle (not the body text).

Is there a way to automate it so it changes the font style of a specific letter across a whole document?Something like Font Replacement function but conditioned by the character. So the designer doesn't need to do it manually every time?

Thanks✨

The best way to get an answer is to attach a sample file using filesharing that represents what you have.

We are talking about documents that contain a lot of text? Use InDesign. GREP styles are made for this.

Thank you, Monika, that it's a great input for times we do editorial or large projects.

Is there something similar in Illustrator? We'll more often work on multiple design documents that are digital-oriented.

I've seen it in scripts. So that is what you need to be looking at. There are GREP scripts, but I don't know what they can do. You probably need to have something customized for you.
