Hello, Community! After last Illustrator update i've faced an Issue with Line tool, particulary with Dashed Line option.
If i Choose dashed line and draw it, i can specify dashed lines stroke Lenght and than i can specify Gap between strokes.
The problem is that after you put specific number in dashed line gap and leave the field(like click outside or push Enter) Gap option drops to starting position. When trying to change it again, it appears inside the Input field, and instantly affects the way line looks if you change Gap setting.
P.S. You can see it on the video below. I am not deleting anything from Gap input, it's just automatically clears it after i switch to any other tools or even next input in following dialog box.
Hello!
I have the same issue, whenever I enter a gap value and then click somewhere else the line goes back to being a straight non-dashed line with the values I just entered deleted.
I've had this problem under Mojave with an older AI version on a Macbook and I have it now with the newest CC version on a new iMac with Catalina. With some updates the problem disappeared but the returned with another update. Reinstalling Illustrator didn't fix it.
But I did find a workaround: If you enter the values

I have tried to replicate the issue and can't..? on version 24.0.
I know its a pain but have you tried clearing your preferences or uninstalling and reinstalling?
If you continue to have this issue please write a bug report here: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs

Hope I could help a little!
