Data merge with gradients

Hi all - I'm trying to use data merge to generate different gradient combinations using a csv of hex numbers.

Is it possible to link the hex values in a grad to a data set?

I've got it working for text fields just stuck on this bit.

I'm affraid that's not possible as described, but it could probably be scripted.
