Default Document Layers

I do a lot of importing from DXF and each time i have to set up my default layers.

When i import i just get layer 0 as a default, to which I add layer 2, layer 3 and layer 4. I then have to change the layers to 1/2/3.

Is there any way of getting AI to remember my previously used Layers so i dont have to do this?

Layers are document based, not application based.

You could try and set up an action to create your layers.

I have just given this a try and with a little tinkering have managed to get a simgle click to setup my layers perfectly.
