Default OPEN folder

New Here ,

Hello,

Does anyone know how to set a preference in Illustrator to set the default folder that opens when you go to open a document?

Right now when I choose OPEN - it defaults to a random folder inside the Illustrator application called "Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CC 217/Support Files/Contents/ Windows"

How do I set it the program to open in a specific folder where my working files are located?

Thanks

Sean

Sounds like you are using a Windows OS. What OS version is it?

It used to be not normal that the Open dialog takes some "random" folder by default, as you say. Usually it defaults to the last used folder.

Can you clarify a bit?

After you open the app and open a new location it does default to that last selected folder, but when you first open it - it defaults to the weird folder location. Suppose if I never close the app it would work the way I want it - but seems like a simple thing to fix.

Disregard my previous post, that is a mac only app.

You asked for open not save location, so not 100% sure if this will work, but worth a try.
