delete external fonts

i want to delete the external fonts that i download that are not part of the illustrator fonts.

can you help me?

Fonts get installed by the system.

Some fonts might still get installed by Illustrator.

And then fonts get installed by the user.

And it's close to impossible to tell one from the other.

Also you should be very careful about uninstalling fonts if you don't know what you're doing, because a lot of fonts are crucial for the system.

i delete the program (illustrator) and instal it again.

Can you be more specific about what you are trying to do. If you look at the Type Menu>Find Font you will see a list of what fonts are actually in your current Illustrator Document. There is no need to delete any other fonts from your system. Could you also provide what operating system and what version of Illustrator you are using? Also, are you using a font manager such as Suitcase or FontExplorer?

Last week i downloaded into my computer fonts from the site - dafont.com ,

but then i understand that i need licence in order to use them.

So i want to delete the fonts that are not belong to illustrator program.

Can you guid me how do so?

If you don't tell us the details, we can't help you.

Fonts don't get installed in Illustrator. They get installed in the system.

Please tell which types of fonts you are talking about? There are some fonts which are installed by the system and deleting them is not good.

Never heard of that one.

But: there are thousands of fonts and some of them have the same names.

Did you double check that it was the one you installed previously? If so, you should be fine.

When installing fonts on Mac OS, make sure to only install them in your user folder. Then at least you know where to look for them and never touch the other fonts folders.
