Hi there,

I need to set up a different color for each marker that does not change everytime I update the data.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out. You may try the steps suggested in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/graphs.html#:~:text=Create%20a%20marker%20design). Also, you may check out this YouTube tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLvjHeSki6Q) and watch it till the end. In the end, the user shows how to change the design of the markers of the whole line. You can follow the same steps to change only colors as well. I hope it helps.

Regards,

Anshul Saini

Hi Anshul,

thank you for this but my question is:

How to set up different markers i.e. different colors for each line that do not change when I change the data...

Thank you for elaborating on the issue and correcting me. Ideally, the overrides to appearances should be preserved on data updates, and reset to default should happen in extreme or user-initiated cases. I checked with the product team regarding this, and they confirmed it is the expected behavior for now for all the graphs. Something that we will be improving in the future. I would suggest if you could also post it here (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/). This way, you will keep getting all the updates related to this feature, and other users can also upvote. After sharing it there, please share that UserVoice link here so other people who check out this post can also upvote, which would help us prioritize.

That is the point that nobody can guarantee.

Change the colors and then don't expect anything. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
