Hi,
I am using Illustrator 24.1.1. I have created an illustration (in attached file Legend.ai) into which I would like to copy/paste some graphic symbols that were sent to me in a Word document (attached file Symbols.docx). I have tried this with two symbols already (for the "Start" and "Open" symbols). When I copy these to the clipboard in Word and then paste them into Illustrator, I see thumbnails for the symbols in the list of objects under the current layer in the "Layers" panel, but I cannot see the symbols anywhere on my illustration. Furthermore, whereas normally I can select an object in my illustration using the "Click to target" link next to the object's thumbnail in "Layers" panel, I cannot seem to select my pasted symbols. If anyone can tell me the easiest way I can copy/paste symbols like this from Word into illustrator, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

You cannot attach .ai files here, you need to share them using sharing apps like CC file sharing, WeTransfer, Dropbox...

Seems like you're well on your way with using Copy/Paste.
Could you describe or give a screenshot of what they look like in Word, preferably a close-up ?
And could you try toggling from Preview to Outline, to see if any rectangular shape comes in view ?
Note: Illustrator also uses a special feature called Symbols, so don't get mixed in in the verbatim 😉
