Can you please tell us how you open the PDF and where you read the dimensions. Please show a screenshot.

Also: how do you create the PDF using which options?

I created the PDF through Illustrator by "save as." I read the dimensions by "showing" the ruler in Acrobat,

Tonm thanks for your help. I don;t know if you can see Monika's commenrts and my replies to her. Hetre's what I said to her (she asked similar questions as you did) -"When I was in AI and "saved as" to a PDF, I did check the boxes to put the trim lines in for the printer. I assumed that the trim lines, would produce an 8.5" x 14" document, but they do not. more like 8 3/4 x 14 1/4."

So the printers marks enlarge the media size. Is that an issue in your production? Most printers ask to not include the marks in the PDF. What about your printer?
