Document dimensions changes from AI to PDF

When creating a PDF from AI, the doc dmensions (8.5 x 14) is larger in the PDF version. Why is this and how can I correct ot?

I created the PDF through Illustrator by "save as." I read the dimensions by "showing" the ruler in Acrobat,

Our printer asked for the trim marks. But, again, the trim marks still do not produce an 8.5 x 14.

Please show screenshots of the document setup, of the export setup and of the resulting boxes.
