Document opens outside of the screen area

Dear All,

iMac, High Sierra, Adobe Illustrator CC17, Two screens.

(actually exactly the same problem on two identical iMacs out of four machines).

When opening existing document it sometimes opens outside the screen. It seems that for some mysterious reason Illustrator (and Photoshop) doesn't respect display borders. Also sometimes popup windows appear on one screen, sometimes on other. Sometimes it opens in a way that window gray top bar is actually behind top menu bar of Illustrator, so I can't move the window obviously.

It may look as Mac problem with two screens, but it affects only Adobe, no problem with other apps.

Anyone experienced something similar? Cure?

With multiple monitors on one computer the chance of this happening greatly increases in conjunction with OS & app updates, but can usually be easily resolved.

    Resetting your workspace

    Window >> Workspace

then tidy up your workspace and

window >> workspace >> new workspace

to save you workspace, and repast to  update

    Mike, tried this.

It seems to work at first glance, I will run some tests tomorrow and will let you know.

    Thanks already:)

Mike, after test period I can say that setting Workspace really helps.

Thanks Mike, appreciate your knowledge and help.

For full High Sierra compatiblity you will need to upgrade to CC2018.

Is there a second monitor attached (that is turned off)?

May OS can be set up to support multiple desktops or spaces or whatever that is called, did you do that?
