Document or slideshow from multiple Illustrator files?

Hi Experts

I am using Illustrator to design scientific charts and figures for a book that has several authors.

I periodically need them to review sets of them (a chapter’s worth) for comments.

I have been putting screenshots of the figures into a Word document so they can add their suggestions for edits.

But…

Is there a way for me to easily make a document or even a slideshow from a bunch of selected *.ai files? Select the all the .ai files for one chapter and then automatically put them into some kind of document or something that the other authors can review?

Any help appreciated!

For the "Share for Review" they don't need to have AI.

Is you save the AI files PDF compatible, you could use Acrobat to combine them. But: there will be vector content in the PDF and thus your collaborators have the high quality version of the files. If everything is covered by a contract and you all trust each other that is of course not a problem.

To easily get feedback you can also use the built-in sharing function. This doesn't combine the files, but you can track the comments on each file with Illustrator's Comment panel directly inside the document.

Hmmm - the pdf conversion sounds like something I should try. And there is good trust among the authors.

They don't all have access to AI so I'll look into the pdf version.

Thanks very much!
