i started having this box opening every time i want to move or copy an object I created. I also lost all my brushes (custom) and all the objects made with them are now impossible to edit. is this normal? i think it started with the latest update. Super frustrating

Can you share a sample file, so one can inspect the issue?

Also, tell exactly what objects you are trying to copy or move.

I’ve been experiencing a recurring issue in Illustrator since updating the app 29 days ago. Every single day now, I’m encountering a save error that completely blocks me from saving my work,  making it impossible to use the app reliably.

The error seems to trigger when there’s overflow text in a text box. As soon as I try to expand the box to reveal the hidden text, Illustrator crashes or shows the error, and there’s no way to save the file afterward. It’s incredibly frustrating and feels like a complete waste of work each time.

I’ve attached the problematic file for reference.

Hello @ohlalaa,

Sorry for the late response. I was able to open the attached PDF file in the latest version of Illustrator. Could you try installing Illustrator v30 and letting us know if the problem persists?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Anubhav

Hi @Maria36224597jgin,

I'm really sorry for the trouble this is causing. Could you confirm the exact Illustrator version you’re using and your OS details (assuming it's macOS)?

First, try resetting Illustrator preferences to see if that resolves the issue. Close Illustrator, then relaunch it while holding Cmd+Option+Shift and confirm the reset. This will restore default settings, so I recommend backing up any custom preferences first. Learn more here.

If the problem continues, try re‑creating your brushes in a new file or copy the affected artwork into a new document. This helps check whether the issue is file‑specific.

If it still persists, test Illustrator in a new macOS user account or after disabling any third‑party plug‑ins (you can test in safe mode), as corrupted profiles or plug‑ins can trigger these appearance and brush issues.

If the error still occurs, please share a short screen recording along with the file, so I can investigate further.

Give these steps a try and let me know how it goes.

Abhishek
