Illustrator has some basic shapes (see the shape tools). But most of those it doesn't have. You can make some using effects. Others are easily constructed. Then build your own shape library.

The closest thing that Illustrator has, aside from the basic shapes already mentioned, is the Symbols panel. You can choose various sets of Symbols from the Symbols panel menu.

You can easily copy any shapes you find in Photoshop and paste them into Illustrator.

Only if you had the shaep tool set to raster. You will get vector shapes with other 2 options, of which you can copy with hollow arow tool and paste into Illustrator, and make your own symbol set.
