Drop shadows getting clipped

When I apply drop shadow to an object, it works and looks fine. When I add that object to my library, the drop shadow gets clipped along the edges, as if there were something layered on top of it. This then continues when I paste that object from my library into another project. I can only see it (so far) on the green rhythm sticks and and the maracas. Any ideas why this is happening to some objects? (these were all created in separate projects and then added together through my library)

Embedding after placing linked rasterizes the dropshadow, is not a good solution.

What happens if you drag them from the CC Library with the Alt key pressed (place them embedded as a copy)
