DXF files cannot be imported any more

Since the last update, it is not possible any more to import DXF files. Illustrator says: "File format is not supported".

I guess something is wrong with the DxfDwg.aip ???

Hello,

our IT department found the solution!

For some reason a Visual C redistributable runtime was missing.

Afte we downloaded and installed this:

https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/

the Illustrator is running without any problems and I can import DXF files normally without any issues.

Hi Uwe,

 

Sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing the version of the OS & Adobe Illustrator? Are you using M1 machine? 

What happens when you try importing it in the previous version? If it it opening there, would it be possible for you to share the DXF file? We'll be happy to take a look.

Hi Ashutosh,

thank you for your response. I am using Illustrator 26.0.1 (64 bit) on a Windows 10 Pro laptop (Windows version 21H1 in German language) with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz 2.11 GHz with 16GB RAM.

The problem is, that the DXF is also not listed in the known file formats (see attached jpg screen shot "DXF-missing.jpg").

A previous version is not installed on this laptop I am using.
CC is automatically updating al Adobe products I use, the previous Illustrator version was deinstalled.

But I think the DXF is not the problem, it seems as if Illustrator doesn't "know" any DXF files anymore.

It would be great if you could help.

I have installed previeous versions:

v 25.4.2 and also v25.4.1

I get the same error.

I now atached the original screenshots.

I am running out of options now.

Any idea?
