Question

Edges are showing but not the anchor points

I tried to find the answer here first, but didn't found the exact problem I'm facing. So, got a file from a client and when I click on the objects, the edges are showing but not the anchor points. But, if I switch to outline view, the anchors appears. What's the problem?

See my screenshots for example.

Selected and edges are shown but no anchor points.

When I look at it with outline (comm-Y)

What Selection tool are you using to select the objects?

If it is the Selection tool (black arrow) you may take a look at the Selection & Anchor Display section in the Illustrator preferences. There is an option called Show Anchor Points in Selection Tool and Shape Tools. Is that option turned on or off?

I used the black arrow but no matter which arrow I use, it's the same thing. I tried the Show Anchor Points in Selection Tool and Shape Tools and it makes no difference weather it's on or off.

Funny thing though, when I add new shapes, I can see the anchor points on new shapes only. Looking at it, looks like my client had his file made in China or Korea (looking at the colors names in my swatches). Maybe a bug with the Chinese/Korean version of AI?

What does the Appearance palette say if you select the object. And what does the Layers palette show?
