Edit original starts editing with Paint. I want it to edit with Photoshop. AND
I do not want my default image viewer to change to Photoshop. Windows 10.
How I control editing and viewing separately? At the moment Edit Original is not using default image viewer, but Paint.
Default viewer in the system is set up for individual file types. So maybe you have set up JPG, PNG,whatever to different editors.
If you want Illustrator to not use the default one, please post a feature request.

It is not using default one, because Illustrator uses Paint. That is why I tought maybe it cannot use Photo viewer, because it has no editing capabilities. It must be defined somewhere in windows. Registry perhaps?

In the latest update 25.4.1, 'Edit Orignal' feature has been updated.
If the selection is a linked image (in any raster format), and you have Photoshop installed on your computer, 'Edit Original' will show as 'Edit in Photoshop'.
There is no change to file-type associations with OS designated applications.
