Editing a PDF with embedded images

Hello,

A long time ago I created a PDF with linked images that were also embedded into the PDF.

Now I am trying to edit the PDF again in Illustrator and Illustrator is asking me to relink the images.

I am just trying to edit the text and a little bit of the vector graphics. When I save a new file with the edits, all the linked images are missing in the document.

Is there anyway to make the edits and keep the images that are embded in the PDF?

So you saved this file with "Illustrator editing capabilities"?

But the images are no longer on your disk?

In that case: Open the PDF in Acrobat or Photoshop

From both you can export the embedded images as files.

Don't save the PDF in those apps.

Open the PDF in Illustrator (toaccess the AI part of it.

Relink the files you have saved from Acrobat or Photoshop.

don't use illustrator to edit .pdf files.  if its text you want to edit, open in acrobat and edit the text from acrobat
