Editing an Ai file.
Hi there I got a desginer to design a web page and I can edit the words in the header but nothing else.
Is there some way to make it editable?

You could ask the designer to do it. If you do not like it, then tell them.
They probably outlined the text of your logo which is best pratice for logos. This is not to keep you from editing it, but so that when it's given to a printer that it will stay the way it has been agreed upon.
What you need is the font and then just type the words you want.
As for the 3D: it probably won't improve the design, but there is a full flavour effect menu in Illustrator as well as Photoshop. Just go ahead and help yourself.
If you can show something and tell us precisely what you want, then probably you can get instructions what to do.
