Enabling GPU (NVidia GTX) in Adobe Illustrator

Is there a way to let Adobe Illustrator work only with the dedicated Graphic Card? I have a NVidia GTX 1650, and despite having already enabled "High-Performance GPU" in its control panel, it seems like Adobe Illustrator is using only the integrated GPU (Intel HD 630).

Is thge graphic card CTX 1650 an outborad graphics card? Yes. Is it connected to an external display? Yes.

Therefore that card is always used. I have a similar card, and never have paid any attention to Nvidia Control panel.

just  get assured you have enabled High Performance GPU in Illustrator Preferences.

If you do not get the results expected it may have relation to available memory, CPU and artwork complexity.

Dear @federico_platon, thanks for your reply, but, unfortunately, my issue is not resolved yet.

I'm using a DELL XPS.

The card isn't connected to an external display.

It's already enabled High Performance GPU in Illustrator.

I had seen some separated cards using that GPU processor. I know now it's a portable model.

Illustrator allows with that preference, -High Performance GPU in Illustrator-, to use the CPU or the GPU to display your artwork. BUT it does not switch between the TWO graphic processor units (Nvidia and Intel) available on your computer. Consult your Dell documentatio to know how to work with one or the other.

I'm sorry but I'm not getting your reply. I don't mind switching between Intel and NVidia. The only thing I'm trying to accomplish is letting Illustrator work only the NVidia card. Is there a way to do that?

As far as I know, Ai does not have any way to use one card or another anytime. It depends on your hardware.

Excuse me if I answer with another question: does your Dell XPS can turn off using the intel graphic chip?

Dell can provide you the answer.

maybe entering the Bios setup of your motherboard has that setting.

When I set the computer to behave in "auto mode" the GTX is not detected by Illustrator, but when I force the whole computer to run the GTX Card for every task it is actually detected by the program.

This actually proves that the program is ABLE to deteted the card, but, somehow, on auto-mode prefers to use the integrated GPU Intel HD630.

Is there a way to force AI using ALWAYS the GTX instead of the HD630?

You have found out that too. Illustrator just works with what it receives.

Or, If you want Ai to always use the GTX, force the PC to use it.

The only reason for using the intel chip is for a longer battery duration. And maybe it runs just a little bit colder.
