I have Illustrator C6 and am working with Windows 10 and up until recently my Illustrator worked fine but now it won't open and I get this window pops up:

-

I have done what it says on the forums, uninstall Illustrator, restart, run Cloud Cleaner, restart, re-install, restart and still get the same thing. On top of that, after being on hold for TWO HOURS with Adobe support they tell me to go to the forums and they couldn't do any thing for me. I feel like I am being pressured into updating my version of Illustrator which I don't use enough to need to do that. Please help.

Sounds as though you had a forced Win 10 update which has trashed your install of CS6. You can try dropping back to an earlier version of the Win OS or install a virtual machine with an older version of the software.

Are you able to provide system specifications?

    • In Windows Explorer, Right-click on This PC and select Properties. This will give you a screenshot that tells you what processor you are using, system type, installed RAM etc.)  - You've already mentioned you're running Windows 10 (is this Win 10 Pro? or other)

When you ran the cleaner, was there a log-file that listed any files it couldn't delete from the system?

    • If possible provide the details from the log-file

Also one thing you can try and do:

    • Set-up a new admin user on your computer, and see if Illustrator will launch for that user.

If all else fails, you'll likely need to uninstall Illustrator once more, and then use RegEdit and look for Illustrator stuff that's left behind in the registry and delete that as well?

    • E.g. look for stuff in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrator; HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Illustrator
