I am having trouble getting the text to show up in a readable format. I have my shape on the top and select my outlined text and when I "make with top object" it becomes a jumbled mess and I have messed with the Fidelity settings but that hasn't fixed my problem. I am trying to redraw a poor version of an AI logo that I client liked but correcting all the errors. I am not sure what I am missing to have it fit in the shape.

You need to prepare the envelope.

I am pretty sure that I did what you are saying, I know yours isn't in english, but I followed the concept. I am gonig to attach the file, maybe I am missing something. I looked at some of your other replies to this question from other people and I wasn't getting it to work.

I don't know if you attached the file yet.
You would need to do that via the forum's web interface. Also: change the file extension to .pdf

I did but not as a .PDF, now it should be there. I made a rectangle, added two points in the middle to adjust the dip on the bottom and the top so I know my shape is one solid shape. I worked around my problem by breaking it up into 8 smaller shapes and that worked. But I would really like to know what I am doing wrong for future design of logos where I want to do something like this. So thank you for trying to help.

This mess is not normal when using envelopes.
Can you share the file that behaves as shown in your screenshot?

Bonjour à @Burned by Renee
Je n'ai pas vu la vidéo, mais je préconise d'utiliser un simple rectangle puis de modifier l'enveloppe.

When making envelopes it is important to play by the rules.
there should be handles on both sides of a curved path segment and they should each be around a third of the length of the segment.

That makes sense. I redrew my shape using other shapes and cutting it apart with the pathfinder and that seems to help as I am getting results much closer to what I was expecting. So no handles this time. and it seems to work.

Object > Path > Reverse Path Direction for the top object seems to make it behave.

That did help.

Créer d'après l'objet au premier plan
ajoute automatiquement des poignées de direction au filet que vous pouvez ensuite délacer à votre guise.
