I'm looking for an EPS viewer for iPad. I don't need to edit the files, just directly view them without first converting to raster.

EPS is last century's file format. It hasn't seen an update in over 20 years (about half of the people advocating its use now haven't even been born then). It should already be gone. Maybe this app still exists: https://www.formidapps.com/ios/app.eps-wizard-jDzABjBp.aspx

If there is neither a viewer for EPS nor for AI files, which vector format do we have viewers for?

There's no way to view a vector file on iPad?;)

PDF - if you don't change the options there will be a PDF embedded in your AI file.

What does that mean? That I can view the AI file in a PDF viewer?

ok, so .ai is a better choice to be able to view the vector files directly?

On the iPad PDF will work best, because there isn't a Viewer for AI files.

Yikes, EPS gone? It's still the most reliable way to get from AI to Cinema4D. Why force something to be obsolete?

EPS just gets less and less support. In some apps it already causes trouble (such as InDesign). So use it with caution.
