hello

i get this eror message on some png files : COULD NOT READ THE FILE try replacing with another link
via place command or drag the file in the UI

latest AI version win 10
basic small png file
file is apparently not corrupted and works fine in the os viewer

import works correctly on most other similar files
if I create a copy of the exact same file in the os and import it again it works

from where the issue is coming from ?

thx

PNGs can be formatted in a variety of ways.  So maybe you just want to open it in Photoshop and then save it from there.

Also: maybe your harddrive is going south. You might perhaps run a disk check.

LATEST

well, i'm trying to understand what is going on here
So, yes indeed I can re render the image in PS or else and as I said in OP It works.
But i don't get why this error pops up from time to time

i doubt it can come from a hardware drive problem as the file itself is valid with other softwares and the hardware is recent
anyway I'll look into that as well

Thank you for your insight
