Hi there,

 

Sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing version of the OS & Illustrator? Do you see this error while opening a specific file or all?

Are you working on files saved on a network drive? If yes, you may try saving file on the local drive & then try to work on it. Let us know if it helps.

Thanks! my app version is Adobe illustrator 2021 v25.4.1 in windows 10. this error happens while opening a specific file.

Can we assume the file isn't locked or in use by another app?

Did you try a computer restart?
