Question

error: not enough RAM available when converting pdf to tif in Illustrator on M2 Max MacBook 64Gb ram

Hello,

I have the following problem...

I have a new MacBook Pro, M2 Max with 1TB and 64GB RAM.
I load a PDF in Illustrator and want to generate a TIF from it.
My old MacBook Pro from 2012 with 16GB RAM takes a bit, but does it without problems.

With my M2 Max with 64GB RAM I get the error message that there is not enough RAM available? huh?
Does anyone here possibly have a tip for me?
Thanks a lot!

Try doing this with Photoshop. You might get better results.

This might be right... but is not the solution for the problem that illustrator has

You want to get a job done, I assume. And then that's what I would do. Rasterization results are better with Photoshop.

Opening a PDF is not recommended anyway, since Illustrator is not a general purpose PDF editor.  https://prepression.blogspot.com/2014/09/the-ten-commandments-of-pdf.html

And since you think this is a bug, please report it and upload your file, so that the engineers can analyze it. https://illustrator.uservoice.com
