Error ""We're unable to save your file for auto-backup" . DataRecovery Folder problem ?

Participant ,

I have this error since the last update.
When I correct the directory address, it's the same.
What could it be the cause of this?

Note: the DataRecovery Folder is on "Only Read" mode.. Is it important (impossible to change though)?

Windows 11 - Illustrator 27

Thanks for trying, @Kinsi. Would you mind resetting Ai preferences manually? If that doesn't help, uninstall the application using the CC Cleaner tool and reinstall it from the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Hi @Kinsi,

Thanks for reaching out. If the Data recovery folder is in read-only mode, then Illustrator will be unable to save/ write the data in that folder. It's important to provide read & write privileges to the folder.

Here are the steps & video for reference:

  • Navigate to the Data Recovery folder.

  • In File Explorer, right-click the folder and choose Properties.

  • Click the Security tab, and then click Edit to set permissions.

  • In the Permissions dialog, select your user name. In the Permissions area, deselect the Deny checkbox.

  • Click OK twice.

  • Launch Adobe Illustrator.

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks,

Anshul Saini
