Every time I start Illustrator, the tools disappear completely.

Question

Yesterday I installed the latest update of the app with supposed error correction. It didn't fix anything, it got worse. All the window tools in my workspace disappeared, and every time I start Illustrator, I have to put one by one, it's very annoying.

I'd appreciate any help.

did you try

older version still work?
reset your prefs?
changing your workspave. window >> workspace
hittng F key. There are 3 modes to toggle through, one of them makes your tools & menus dispapear (for presentations & proofing)
