Everytime i go open a file my mac just freezes and i have to force quit illustrator ccl2017

When you say your mac freezes any other app work or just Illustrator doesn't work? are you connected to a server in your network?

just illustrator freezes and stays on loading circle.. I'm working from home and just connected to broadband internet as normal... I've uninstall my illustrator and reinstall it and still it just loads up and allows me to select a file i wish to open and then thats it it doesn't open it and freezes me out ..

So if you force quit Illustrator your mac is not freezes and the mac work normally right? the problem is when you try to open any .ai files your mac return to freezes

What operating system your mac have? Maverick, Yosemite, El Capitan, Sierra?

What Illustrator version is?

Do you have the last update of your system operating and Illustrator?

the problem is when you try to open any .ai files your mac return to freezes | AGAIN YES YOUR RIGHT, BUT NOT JUST .ai .pdf and i assume other formats..

What operating system your mac have? Maverick, Yosemite, El Capitan, Sierra? | MacOS Sierra version 10.12.2

What Illustrator version is? | illustrator 2017.0.2

last updated illustrator this morning 26/01 given the first time this happen was late last night upon saving my work it froze... i was gutted and slept on it, woke up this morning and sore there was an update for illustrator so figured i should do it... since then i have had this very problem

If you try start with a new file happen this too or just when you want open a file?

Try installing a previous version even before your last night version, follow the link to see how do it maybe that can help you.
