Greetings from the future, I do believe I have found a solution.

    Steps made simple:

    • Make a puckered circle (without fill or with fill, I don't know your needs)
    • Make a square (with fill) and put it on top of the puckered circle
    • Select the square and circle and make it a clipping mask
    • Click on new puckered circle
    • Go to Object and select "Expand Appearance" and then select "Expand" (you have to expand it just like this or it won't work)
    • Drag puckered circle to Export for Assets (or however you wish to export it) as an SVG
    • Export and enjoy life once again

This is something that has been a problem for me for quite some time, I hope this helped!

    It is still a problem.

The problem has been merged with a totally unrelated problem on user voice

'Expanded pucker/bloat effect is a circle or ellipse in SVG' has been merged into this idea:

Hi Robert, wondering if you found an answer to this issue. I'm facing the same problem when I export to svg.

    Thanks, Julie

I'm seeing the same thing; an expanded pucker or bloat effect is an ellipse in the SVG code still for some reason.

ohmnath , can you shed any light on this for us?

    Hi Doug,

Thanks for flagging this out. It's happening with no Stroke and only Fill applied objects with "Pucker & Bloat" effect applied. I've also checked and found that it's working fine till CC 2017, it started happening in CC 2018 & 2019. I've reported it as a bug and the team will be working on it.

I'd also request that if you can take out a moment and report it here: Adobe Illustrator Feedback. Also, do share the UserVoice link so that others can upvote the issue.

    Regards,
