It was always the case that when exporting files (jpg, png Etc.) from Illustrator the artboard name was used as a suffix if you clicked "use artboards"
The last versions of Illustrator 2022 didnt do this if only one artboard existed, therefore the file name did not have a suffix.
Illsutrator 2023 now has reverted back to including the suffix which means I have 100's of files that I cannot easily update as they are used by 3D software. I f i cnage these files I will need to relink them manually which will take considerable time.
Is there a setting in 2023 that supresses the sufic on sinple artboards as it did on 2022?!
Here's my suggestions to Adobe
:
1. If you are going to use one method stick to it.
2. Instead of launching weekly updates to your software, spend the time to get each release working correcly. You seem to be constantly patching bugs and creating new ones.
3. Consider your customers, we pay for this service but your treat us like third class citizens.
4. Fix your bug reporting system, near on impossible to find and when your do its doesnt allow you to post as its faulty..... there is a pattern forming.
It Windows 10 Professional.

That's exactly what the developers did here. A couple of people have complained about the missing suffix, because they were relying on that suffix.

Yes Indeed, I was forgetting that changing my workflows again is far less important that other people’s requirements. I guess an option to supress the suffix was far too obvious and its far more fun for some of their clients to waste their more time and money changing their workflows because 'the developer' had a 'great idea'.
I am also assuming that once again we have an update where the copy/cut/paste doesn’t work correctly is also a new feature carefully crafted by the 'developers'?! Or maybe the way is crashes more is a handy way to force us to have a coffee break or indeed the way in which it locks up or the menus corrupt is also an enhanced feature I must have missed the white paper. on.
As I said I tried to send in a bug report on these and I have 'reached out' to find solutions, but the biggest problem is if you can find the bug report function.... which isn’t called that by the way.... you can’t submit it because it doesn’t recognise your credentials.
It is to me quite obvious that over the last 12-18 months Illustrator specifically has become more unstable and has far more bugs, but it doesn’t help when ‘developers’ decide to change workflows and then change them back with having a solution.

It is mystifying to me that the developers didn't recognise that users want control of this as an option, not for it to simply be on or off.

Indeed, but that would have required common sense and not the encyclopaedic knowledge of the Marvel Universe (not suggesting that developers fall into a certain stereotype).

Hello @Bombcrater,
We are sorry for the inconvenience. We had to temporarily reverse this feature in the Max release as a lot of users' workflow was disturbed due to this.
The team is trying/ looking for a fix, so users who want this feature or don't want it will have the option to choose.
Would you mind upvoting this UserVoice (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-feature-requests/suggestions/31723057-wh...) and adding your comment here? The product team is monitoring this UserVoice, and upvote will help prioritize it.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Anshul Saini
