Export is shrinking my final product

New Here ,
Mar 24, 2025 Mar 24, 2025

I just used this file I have last week and exported 1200px by 1200px artboards at Medium (150) dpi. They came out, as usual, at 2500px by 2500px. Today, the same 1200px by 1200px artboards exported at Medium (150) dpi are now coming out 250px by 250px! This is not happening to other documents; just this one all of a sudden. Please help!

No, it is a bug that does not get fixed by uninstall/reinstall. It will be fixed in a future version.

This only happens with large canvas document that you somehow by accident created, a 1200px by 1200px artboard is not a large canvas document.

Copy and paste and position the artwork in a new 1200 px document is the best solution and watch out for warning signs during creation of your document.

132 artboards is a lot, you can try Export for Screens as a workaround (or use the beta for export, but I am always wary of using a beta for real work).

That looks like a problem with Large Canvas artboard export.

Can you copy the artwork into a new document of 1200 x 1200 and check the export?

Or try export for screens in the current document.

I copied the art into a new document and it exported properly. So I assume there is a setting that must have gotten messed up in my current document between last week and now. Do you know what that setting is so I can remedy that and not have to restart my entire document? Because, even when copying the artwork over, the "Paste In Place" option didn't even put my artwork in the right area.

The problem with Large Canvas documents is that you only get a warning sign when you create such a large artboard.

After that, the is no simple way to see that you are working in a Large Canvas document and there is no way to convert it to a regular canvas document.

Yeah it's exactly 1/10th so do I just need to uninstall and reinstall? I'm also on a Dell that's running Windows 11 Pro if that helps.

Ok that screen makes more sense. This is an older document and has 132 of those 1200x1200 artboards. I wonder what the limit on "high artboard count" is.

Here is some info on Large Canvas documents, and yes, that number of artboards could have caused the creation of it.

Yeah I stay away from the betas for work too. I'll read up on that link! I guess I'll just chop up the big doc into like 4 smaller docs with just 32 artboards each. That still seems to be exporting properly. Thanks for all the help!!! 🙏
