export / safe for web / why "(Legacy)"?

Hi there,

in my german version of AI 2015.3. there is a word I dont understand:

Please see: export / safe for web (Legacy)

What does "Legacy" means? I dont mean the translation (Erbe in german), but the meaning for the future.

This is my many year used and most important feature as professional grafik- and webdesigner.

Will this be perhaps deleted in a future update of AI? This would be a disaster indeed.

The new "export for screens" is ok for a some cases, but VERY POOR compared the "safe for web" export function.

Please tell me that this will remain!

Hanna

Hanna,

Legacy refers to the fact that Save for Web is old (fashíoned), just like CS6 and older are called legacy formats.
