Exporting Layers in Illustrator to individual SVG files

New Here ,
Dec 10, 2021 Dec 10, 2021

Hi, I have thousands of garment illustraions to export to SVG files and there are multiple illustrations on one artboard. I have a script to seporate them onto individual layers. However I can't seem to find an extension for Illustrator 2021 to export layers to individual SVG files.

Also if the files could be named the same as the layer name that would be a life saver!

I know there was something for Illustrator 2019 however I no longer have access to that version.

Any help would be appreciated.

In exactly the same way as earlier versions. It works in Illustrator v26, but requires you to name layers something other than the defaults first.

Download the .jsx, add it to Presets\Scripts in the Program Files folder if you want to run it from Illustrator's menu.

Or go to File > Scripts > Other Script... to run it from anywhere.
