eyedropper tool doesn´t pick up brushes

The eyedropper tool in illustrator is not takingthe brush I have selected. It does pick up the size of the stroke and the color but not the chosen brush. The tool settings seem to be correct, as I have checked the 'Focal Stroke' checkbox.

Double click the tool

In the options, are there all boxes checked?

I just realized that the appearance checkbox was not marked in the tool settings and that was it. Thank you very much for responding.
