my computer went off so that means I have lost all my work! 

there's no way i could look on the memoirs or something to get back

I am not sure about that you can get back your memories or not. But you can take action that can prevent or help you a little bit regarding this.

Open Illustrator, then press ctrl/cmd + k and then ↓↓↓↓

This helps you to keep your file saved every 30 seconds as you can see.

No. The Recovery is not a Backup. Repeat again: the Recovery is NOT a backup.

The recovery might bring you back the last 20 minutes, and most of the time it will do that. But if you want to be prepared, you have to make your own backup strategy. And then stick to it. Save your files. Save often. Make multiple copies. Because when there is a power outage while saving, your system will most ertainly ruin your file. And then all those previous saving will be lost.
