Hi,
Since I personalize my documents created in Illustrator for my clients, I have been using the Type Tool, Edit, Find and Replace command to replace text across all Artboards.
However, unfortunately this feature does not work for text created using the Type of a Path Tool. Any suggestions how to batch edit the text created this way without having to change them manually one by one?
Thanks!
Saludos,
Jane

Does work for me and it should work in general.
Which version of Illustrator are you using? Any characteristics in your documents that might be worth mentioned?

Hi Kurt,
I am using Illustrator CC 22.1 (2018).
I created the text by first creating a circle, then splitting the circle in half using the command "cut path at selected anchor points" in order to create a curved text at the top, and a separate curved text at the bottom. I then created the top and bottom texts using the Type on a Path Tool.
The find and replace text function works perfectly well with other text I created in a standard text box (Type Tool) - however doesn't work at all for the text created using the Type on a Path Tool.
Saludos,
Jane

Can you share a sample .ai file?

Hi Kurt,
I attach a sample file. I am trying to replace the name “Amelia” on all sails with another name by using the Text find and replace option.

Good evening, Jane.
I'm sorry to tell you that I didn't receive a file from you.
Whereto did you send your sample file?
Apart from that, most of the time it's more beneficial to share sample files on one of the various file sharing servers (e.g. Google Drive). This way all contributors on the forum may be able to find possible solutions.
